S&P

S&P company profile

Schorling und Partner consults government authorities and private organisations in engineering matters. Our emphasis is on atmospheric dispersion of pollutants, dispersion of pollutants in ground water and soil as well as in complex computer applications.
We have developed numerical computer codes to allow for real-time simulation of accidental releases of pollutants of technical plants as well as nuclear power plants. Besides the computation of the spatial concentration distribution, it carries out impact assessment with respect to people and structures. Dosage models give the exposition of people and information on countermeasures. Vagen, our location
Another major interest is the simulation of traffic induced loads to people in complex terrain (buildings, orography) considering the current or anticipated traffic loads and current meteorological data. Here, Schorling and Partner has developed and validated numerical models to allow for most realistic situations. The model allows for the computation of annual means as well as the daily distribution. The results are presented in form of animations.
Furthermore, we have developed a numerical accident release model for neutral and heavy gases as well as dust, which includes the dispersion of jets and bleves, evaporation, fire and explosion. Assessment on the impact on people and structures with respect to heat and pressure are given. There is also information included on the toxicity of the gas spilled.
Last but not least, we have developed and applied software to allow simulations, in order to study accidental release of petrol from pipelines. Here, it analyses the effects due to evaportation, fire and explosions, as well as the impact to soil, waterways and groundwater.

Company history

Schorling & Partner was founded in 1993 and has a highly educated and skilled staff, with an emphasis on projects with scientific and military background.
Dr.-Ing. Michael Schorling studied aircraft construction at the Technische Hochschule, Aachen, Germany, and specialised in fluid-dynamics. He wrote his thesis on computing the shock wave of a sonic boom in a stratified atmosphere, and worked as a postdoctoral at NASA Langley, USA. He is a member of the scientific committee of the journal "Umweltwissenschaften und Schadstoff-Forschung".
Dr.-Ing. Michael Schorling has been a selected member and put under oath by the Chamber of Commerce, Bavaria, Germany. He is a member of the Arabic-German Union for Trade and Industry.
